I teach both beginner and advance students in the same class. This has the advantage of the beginners being able to learn off of their class mates in addition to my input. Advanced students gain from this by sharing their skills with others and growing in confidence in their own abilities.
Courses consist of eight, 3 hour classes, and cost $72-00 per course per person. There may be additional costs for consumables used in the courses if I have to provide them for you. Class numbers are limited to a maximum of 12 students in order to ensure that each student gets the assistance they may require.
Courses will only commence once there are 10 confirmed and paid students enrolled.
The courses are taught in such a way that each 8 week course results in a completed project. This may be a bouquet, pot plant or cake, and at the completion of the course you have a visually pleasing result.
A concern for most pupils is the cost of getting the equipment needed to start a new hobby. I hire out equipment kits for beginners on a term by term basis. The cost is $15.00 per term, and you keep the kit for the entire term. These kits contain all the basic tools required. Any specific flower / foliage / moulds used are available to share in the class. I also have all the equipment used in class available for purchase.
I supply each student with a complete set of notes pertaining to the project being taught on that course. There are consumable items needed for each course, and a complete list will be sent to each registered student. These items, such as paper-covered florist wires, florist tape, sugarpaste and dust / paste colours must be provided by the student. I can supply these items, either in the quantities needed for each course, or in their commercially available quantities.
Once you have enrolled in a particular course, you will be notified of the specific requirements for your course. Should you need to purchase anything from me, please contact me so that I can supply it to you at the start of the course. Bookings for beginner kits are essential as I only have a limited number of them.
